The Sunbeam brand was first registered in 1888, making bicycles, then motorcycles, with the first Sunbeam-named car appearing in 1901.
By 1911, Sunbeam was considered a major manufacturer, producing around 650 cars each year.
The 1920’s formed Sunbeam’s heyday, giving birth to the 20, the Long and the Super Sports, and rise to a solid reputation on the racetrack.
Rootes bought the company in 1935, selling to Chrysler in 1964. By 1978, the Sunbeam name was completely discontinued.
