November 2011: Kmart Tyre & Auto Service, a division of Kmart Australia Ltd, is investing $25 million into the revitalisation of the brand. The Tyre & Auto giant worked with Davidson Branding on the campaign, which is focused on refreshing and reinvigorating the brand to create a cleaner and more streamlined look. The investment will see over 250 Kmart Tyre & Auto Service stores refurbished and reimaged over the next 12 months. 2012: Kmart Tyre & Auto Service (KTAS) have announced a partnership with Aboriginal Employment Strategy (AES), a 100% Indigenous managed, national, not -for -profit Recruitment Company.The partnership will see both companies develop fourteen school based automotive apprenticeships across NSW, QLD, VIC, NT and WA.Commencing in February 2012, the program offers Indigenous students the opportunity to complete the first year of the Light Motor Vehicle Certificate 3 throughout Years 11 and 12. Following completion of the course and the Higher School Certificate, students involved in the program are then eligible to be employed as a second year automotive apprentice. 21 November 2011: New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territories’ Kmart Tyre & Auto Service (KTAS) stores are going in a new direction- East. The appointment of Steven East as the new State Manager will provide the company with a fresh face but an old hand when it comes to successfully running a business.Mr. East has substantial experience in the retail and hospitality sectors and as part of the KTAS team, he will be responsible for managing and growing approximately 70 stores in NSW and ACT, and looking after over 350 employees.Read the full article to find out more.
December 2011: Kmart Tyre & Auto Service employee, Sarah O’Brien, has won the Most Outstanding Automotive 1st Year Apprentice award from Mount Gambier Training and Further Education (TAFE).Sarah, who began her apprenticeship with Mount Gambier Kmart Tyre & Auto Service in 2011, was awarded the honour after demonstrating her commitment, loyalty and enthusiasm towards her career in the automotive industry.Read the full article to find out more.
17 October 2011: Kmart Tyre & Auto Service, a division of Kmart Australia Ltd, have opened the doors to their new store at Parramatta Westfield today. The store is located on Aird Street and the first one-hundred customers to visit the store this Saturday, 22nd October, will receive a $50 Service Saver Card which entitles them to $50 off their car service*.The new store has created 10 new jobs within the local community, including two apprenticeships. Parramatta Store Manager Caine Callaghan said, “We’re really excited about the benefits we can pass on to our customers and the local community. 14 March 2013: Kmart Tyre & Auto Service has this week launched a new marketing strategy, which will see the business move away from the industry’s time honoured sales promotions, to a model of Everyday Low Prices (EDLP). Implemented across its tyre range, the new model will provide customers with greater price consistency when looking to make a purchase.A first for the industry, Kmart Tyre & Auto Service will abandon tactical sales events and promotions and will instead focus on delivering lower prices on more products every day. This move is aligned with the EDLP strategy of its counterpart department store, Kmart. The new price position will be communicated through the Kmart catalogue, local flyers, advertisements in metro and regional press, radio, digital advertising and EDMs, with the tagline ‘No sales.
